Facebook in Pakistan

After hearing that Facebook had been banned in Pakistan, the general reaction of the youth was 'WHY???"
We understand that the issue with drawing the prophet's picture and holding a competition for that fact is wrong. We also understand why the elders of our community are in agreement with the government over having the popular social networking site banned. What we don't understand is why go to such extremes?
Is it not possible that we could all go on the group and block it or report it for 'Attacking an Individual or Group'??
Is it not possible for the the Islamic leaders of the world to talk to Mr. Zuckerberg, the creator of this site, to ban the group or delete it because it is clearly offensive?
No its not possible, is it?
It is not possible because Pakistan is running away. That is exactly what it is doing. It banned Facebook and then Youtube! Next thing you know they'll ban Google and we'll be back in the dark ages!
No one is willing to stand up and say it "You draw the prophet now but wait till you're dead! You'll all be going to hell!!"
Is'nt that enough?
The Prophet himself said nothing to the people who cursed his God! Instead of reacting to their insults he waited. With the passage of time the Prophet returned to the city he had been thrown out of as a conqueror!
I believe that the Pakistani government should allow all these sites to be used and not retaliate. Stand back not because of fear or cowardice but because we should believe that God will help us and we should be the bigger country( bigger person). We should prove that no matter what the media is showing us as Muslims are not afraid of persecution. The Prophet put up with it and so can we!
So bring back Facebook and show that we are not afraid of you non believers! We are stronger than you!
